With a lifelong love for cars, Jade has combined her practical experience with technical expertise, making a meaningful impact in a space traditionally dominated by men.

Her journey into the automotive world started early. “I always worked with my dad in the shed and fell in love with it,” Jade recalls. This hands-on experience sparked her interest in mechanics, eventually leading her to pursue a formal apprenticeship. “I just finished my apprenticeship last year and now I’m a fully qualified mechanic,” she proudly shares. It’s not just about fixing cars for Jade—it’s about a genuine passion for the work and the sense of accomplishment that comes with every job well done.

Cars are more than just a job for Jade—they’re her passion and a vital part of her life. “Cars are my passion in life,” she says. “Whether it’s working on cars, going to car meets, watching Supercars, or drifting events, it’s what keeps me going.” For Jade, the connection with cars is deeply personal, providing a sense of fulfillment that extends beyond the workshop. “It’s something that puts a smile on my face and makes my mental health better,” she adds. Jade’s love for the car industry isn’t just about the work itself; it’s the community, the excitement, and the joy that come with it.

In addition to her work as a mechanic, Jade has taken on the role of community leader with Jimny Girls NSW, a Facebook group she founded to provide a supportive space for women in the automotive world. What began as a small community quickly grew to over 3,000 members in just a year. “I want to show younger females that we do belong in this industry,” Jade says. Through Jimny Girls, Jade is making a real difference, encouraging women to follow their passions and embrace their love for cars without fear of being judged. “We can do it, and I want to make sure young women know that,” she asserts.

Jade’s ambition is not only about inspiring other women—she also has big personal goals in mind. “My dream is to work hard in life so I can get my dream car, a Holden GTS,” she shares. Her journey in the automotive world is just beginning, and she’s already setting her sights on greater things. Whether it’s furthering her mechanical career, expanding Jimny Girls NSW, or competing in more motorsport events, Jade is committed to the pursuit of excellence and growth. She knows that in the automotive world, perseverance is key.

Jade’s dedication to her craft and community doesn’t stop at her personal goals. “I love being able to work with my hands and solve problems,” she explains, detailing her experience with engine swaps, maintenance work, and diagnostics. Working on cars has taught her patience, a valuable lesson that extends beyond the garage. “It teaches you that everything takes time, and not everything goes to plan,” Jade reflects. She’s no stranger to challenges, and it’s the resilience and determination to overcome them that fuels her drive to succeed.

Though the automotive industry has historically been male-dominated, Jade is proving that passion and skill have no gender. She’s overcome obstacles and negative comments, which only made her more determined to succeed. “My school teacher told me not to take the apprenticeship and to pursue personal training,” she recalls. “It made me want to do it more to prove that I could. You will always get males talking down to you, but all we can do is prove them wrong.”

Jade is passionate about helping other women break into the automotive world, just as she did. She recalls mentoring a young female work experience student and offering words of encouragement to help her get started in the industry. “I want to make sure they don’t feel scared and help them get excited about working on something they love,” she says. Through her journey, Jade has become a source of inspiration for other women looking to pursue careers in mechanics and the broader automotive industry.

With the support of her family and friends, Jade continues to break new ground. “I wouldn’t be where I am today without them,” she says. Their unwavering belief in her abilities has been invaluable as she works toward her goals. Jade’s message to other women who want to follow in her footsteps is simple: “Don’t listen to anyone but yourself in what you want to do. Follow your heart.”
