Sport: Drag Racing – Juniors | Activity: Driver
Zara started out in drag racing in Group One with a Nitro Bike. While she has dreams of racing in Top Fuel, Zara’s first taste of drag racing was by her dad’s side as he crewed on a Nitro Bike and she helped out on the team Junior Dragster. But it only took a single season of being on the side lines, for Zara to feel that draw to the track that so many drivers talk about.

With an amazingly supportive family, and race family, Zara has been able to travel all over Australia to compete in Junior Drag racing events, not just competing in races, but also appearing at car shows to encourage more people to enjoy the sport she loves so much.
This is a sport that has already dealt young Zara with some amazing highs, such as coming 2nd in the 2018/19 Australian Championships, and some terrible lows. Zara’s younger sister, Anita, lost her life on the race track, proudly following in her older sister’s footsteps. Zara now races for both of them, with every race and every win dedicated to her little sister.
Zara reminds us though, that it’s not just all about what happens between the start and finish line, or about being able to go faster than you can drive on the freeway before you even get your driver’s license. Racing is about enjoying the special moments, making lifelong friends, and creating treasured memories.
“Just enjoy it. What is the point of doing something if it is not fun.”
