Sport: Historic Road Racing & Historic Motocross – Driver
Stacey has been on 2 wheels since she raced a 1974 XR 75 at an old historic motocross event at the age of 5years. Quite simply, she says she raced, because her dad did. But while that may have been the reason she started racing, Stacey very quickly fell in love with the challenge and the thrill, and now races for her own reasons.

“I love how strong and powerful racing motorcycles make you feel, and I also love inspiring other women to give it a go.”
Stacey’s “day job” as a paramedic poses the question of why, by most of her colleagues, but her close friends totally understand this addiction which has allowed Stacey to travel all over the world with her racing. With the title of first female to win “King of the Mountain” at the Mt Tarrengowa Hill Climb under her belt, Stacey has a much bigger dream of competing in the Isle of Man TT event in her sights.
But you can’t race on 2 wheels for as long as Stacey has, without experiencing a few mishaps. Whether it’s being pulled back on the bike by her collar when swinging (on the side car) for Dave, or splitting her pants during a crash and not being aware until the end of the race, Stacey has plenty of stories to tell.
As you can imagine, Stacey has been through a few different bikes for the different types of racing she has competed in, but her preference is for the British bikes. Currently she has a 1954 BSA 350cc, 1971 Honda 750cc four and a 1959 Triumph Metteisse 500cc in her collection. “They’re all such a joy to ride.
While Stacey has the support of her Dad, joining together to make their own little race team, she tells us that there is plenty of racing family out there to support anyone who is looking to get started in the world of 2 wheel racing. There are even special women’s only ride days if you want to avoid the pressure, or you’re looking to find a supportive mentor.
“Get out there and give racing a go. You will love it.”
