Sport: Circuit Racing, X3 NSW Hyundai | Activity: Driver
Like so many major names in circuit racing, Jess started out in karting (2015) after being introduced to the sport by her boyfriend (Tim Colombrita) and then only just last year moved onto racing a 1999 Hyundai Excel in X3 Series NSW Hyundai’s. Now you might think that a little Hyundai Excel sounds pretty tame, but this car reaches 190km/h at the end of Conrod Straight at Bathurst when Jess is behind the wheel.

I love the adrenaline rush and driving the car on the limit during a race.
Currently racing the 7 NSW rounds each year – plus doing Bathurst at Easter – Jess has decided that this year she would like to also race the 4 interstate rounds. So much racing obviously requires not just great preparation and focus to be able to compete against the other 25-35 cars on the day, but also a lot of at-home preparation is required before a race meeting to prepare the car and driver. Luckily Jess has some great support behind her with Mum, Dad and Tim (her boyfriend) helping her out, and heaps of friends cheering her on from the stands.
Even after having her most scary moment, crashing out and writing off her race car, Jess still focuses on her dream of driving in the new TCR class and perhaps even driving in Aussie Car. And we don’t doubt she will get there, because in her own words, “You never know unless you try. Get out there and have a go, you will surprise yourself.”
If you’d like to follow Jess, you can through her Facebook page. Please don’t forget to also support her sponsors; Martin Engines (Mum and Dad), Smartwayz Services, G&W Bathrooms, Space Grill, Truckmate and Bird in Hand.
