Motocross is a hard sport requiring you to be all over fit, healthy, have great concentration and be totally committed to training hard with a tough stamina to give you the strength and drive to ride through some pretty tough tracks with jumps some as high as the trees. Motocross sometimes involves picking up your 100kilo bike if you stack it and then continue the race even when you’re exhausted.

It might sound like a tough sport, but Hannah has what it takes, managing to come 2nd overall in the girls state round (Western Australia) after only riding for 10mths. You heard right, she had never been on a 2 wheel bike before, then after watching the state rounds at Wanneroo with her dad, decided to not just give it a go, but throw all her energy and ambition into racing.

There is nothing better than sitting on the line waiting for the gates to drop and the freedom I feel flying through the air.

Hannah trains on her Kawasaki 250 twice a week and attends boxing training once a week (a 3 hour round trip) to allow her to be up to a good enough level to travel and compete with the boys. She has strong aspirations of being ready for the Australian Junior MX in Adelaide later this year and dreams of coming away with a national title, and one day even a world title.

But it’s not always fun and games when you’re one who competes as hard as Hannah. She has had the occasional stack, including one of her scarier moments when she hit a rock and rolled her bike at the Manjimup track. Or perhaps the slightly embarrassing moment when after a stack she thought the race was finished and went to leave the track … only it wasn’t finished … oops.

There is no doubting the passion Hannah has for her racing, and the fantastic support she has from her family (mum Tabatha, stepdad Craig and her brother Ryan) and all her sponsors. If you’d like to follow Hannahs racing, you can through her mum’s page Facebook page. Please don’t forget to also support the sponsors who support her all the way, Bolt Everywear, Lee Mechanical, No Limits Moto, J and P Creech, WA Sand Blasting, JMS Suspension, Penrite Oils. Hannah also carries the Autism Awareness ribbon on all her race gear in support of her brother.
